What is Ad Wire and how do I enable it?

Ad Wire is a remnant inventory tool that allows stations to run paid advertising in their stop sets and generate incremental dollars.  From time to time, our Ad Operations team gets orders directly from clients that are added to Ad Wire and if stations opt to run the ads, the station will be paid a CPM fee for any impressions generated by the station.  Essentially, it’s an easy way for stations to generate money for available inventory that would otherwise go unsold.  The station has full control over whether or not they want to run ads that are available in Ad Wire interface.  All locally sold, locally trafficked ads will always play before any Ad Wire ads.  In fact, Ad Wire ads are prioritized in a way that they will only play if there are no station, market, or corporate level ads available to be played at the time the ad unit is called.  Ad Wire ads WILL NEVER replace station ads.  These are remnant inventory fillers.

Enabling Ad Wire is a very easy process.  Simply have an Admin or Super Admin access the Client Console and click the Ad Wire link at the top of the page.  The first step in signing up for Ad Wire is to submit a W-9 form to our business office so that payment disbursements can be made to the station.  To complete the W-9, just click the Enter Tax Info button, complete the form and click Submit.  This will send a digital copy of the form to our business office and the station will start to receive payment for any impressions that they run.  Without this form, the station will not be able to receive payment even if they have opted to run Ad Wire ads.  So, make sure this from is submitted before proceeding.

ENABLING AD WIRE ON A STATION:
To enable Ad Wire ads to play on a station the ads that play in Ad Wire just follow these steps:

1. Have an Admin or Super Admin access their Client Console account
2. Click the Ad Wire link at the top of the screen
3. Click the LINK button for any station on which Ad Wire ads should run

Once a station is linked it will stay linked until it is manually unlinked.

MANAGING AD WIRE INVENTORY:

To add Ad Wire ads to a station inventory simply follow these steps:
1. Have an Admin or Super Admin access their Client Console account
2. Click the Ad Wire link at the top of the screen
3. Click the DISPLAY ADS button for any specific station -- Stations must be managed independently of one another
4. To Add an item from Ad Wire to a station inventory simply find an ad that has a Red box on the left side of its detail line and check it.  Repeat this step and check any red box for all ads that should be added to inventory.   (Items in inventory are denoted in Green.  Items not in inventory are denoted in red).
5. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click ADD SELECTED

To remove Ad Wire ads that are currently playing on a station from a station's inventory just follow these steps:
1. Have an Admin or Super Admin access their Client Console account
2. Click the Ad Wire link at the top of the screen
3. Click the DISPLAY ADS button for any specific station -- Stations must be managed independently of one another
4. To REMOVE an Ad Wire ad from a station's inventory, check any green boxes of an ad's line.  Repeat this step as many times as necessary until all ads that need to be removed are selected (items in inventory are denoted in Green.  Items not in inventory are denoted in red).
5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click REMOVE SELECTED

 NOTES:
a. If a station wished to remove all Ad Wire items from inventory and remove Ad Wire from being able to play on a station, all individual ads must be removed (turned red) in the Display Ads screen before the station is unlined.  If the station is Unlinked and ads are still in inventory, those ads will continue to play.
b. Ad Wire ads, like all other ads available to be played on a station, are listed in inventory in the Injector manager screen.  Ad Wire ads are denoted in the Injector Manager Inventory screen with a green highlight.
c. The CPM fees vary from campaign to campaign and ad to ad and since Ad Wire ads are pulled and played on an as needed, "if no other local content is available" basis there is no uniform reporting tool to show current value of the Ad Wire ads that have run.
