My station went to break and I heard silence, what is wrong?

95% of the time when a station has silence or Dead Air IN a stop set, the station is running out of available inventory. This is usually the result of two different causes.

Either the station does not have enough cover material in inventory for the designated categories or the station Template is improperly configured and no categories are selected as playable in that (or those) “slots” of the stop set.

When the injector goes to make a play decision, if all of the media is being held – this could happen due to frequency caps, category separation rules, or even ad pacing, then the Injector will not have any items to play, and will in turn play silence.  To prevent this, or correct any issues of silence in stop sets, simply add more fill content to the station inventory using either the Add New Component process or via the Bulk Uploader.  As a rule of thumb we suggest that all stations have at least 15 items in inventory for any category that is checked in the station template.  The easiest way to resolve this is to make sure that the Unpaid Spots category is selected in the station template and then use the PSA Wire tool to add Royalty Free items from the PSA Wire to inventory.  Stations can also elect to add in house created fill items to inventory as well.

Just make sure that any uploaded content is added to a category that has been enabled in the station template.  Items added from the PSA Wire will automatically be put into the Unpaid Spots category.  Items added from Ad Wire will automatically be entered as Paid Spots - but note that these are remnant inventory spots and all locally scheduled Paid Spots will play with a higher priority.  So, these will only play if no local ads are available to be played.
